Alex grew up in Winston-Salem, NC and it has been his home for most of his adult life. Life as an art student at VCU in Richmond, Virginia from 1967 to 1971 was both turbulent and entertaining. During his 20s and early 30s, Alex collected addresses from New York and Boston to Santa Barbara and Ojai, California. He also lived in Spain, Switzerland and Colorado. Gay culture and politics, meditation and spiritual aspirations, heavy drinking and recovery plus artistic mania have all contributed his evolution. Green is Alex’s favorite color and he paints with 2 inch brushes.
